There is a painful case of honor killing in Pakistan at Lahore. A 25
years old woman was killed by her own father and brother in front of
high court. Her mistake was only that she did love marriage. She was
three months pregnant.
Police told that a Farzana Praveen a resident of Nankana Sahib got married to a man and her family was against of her marriage. She married to Ikbaal 45, a widower and father of five. Praveen’s family impute on Ikbaal that he abduct to Praveen. So came with her husband to give a statement on the case.
According to an advocate Mutafa Kharal as well she came out of court with Ikbaal, near about twenty people including her father and brother started to threw stones on them. He became successful to run away from the incident. Where this event happened, people were there as silent spectators watching the show?
Girl’s father said that he has no guilty to kill his daughter because she spoiled the respect of the family.
According to Pakistan’s human rights association 869 women were killed as honor killing in 2013. It has not happened only in Pakistan, we can see daily these types of cases in India also. Women’s mistake was only that they have chosen their life partner of their choice.
